Donato Tramuto has lots of jobs. He is the Founder and CEO of Physicians Interactive, an international platform for life sciences brands to reach physicians and other health care professionals. He is also the Founder and Chairman of Health eVillages, a non-profit that works to improve access to better care in the developing world via the use of mobile health technology. And, finally, he is the Chairman of the Board of Healthways, a health and well-being company (formerly a leading Disease Management company).
Health eVillages is a partnership between the not-for-profit Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights (Kerry Kennedy serves on the Advisory Board) and Physicians Interactive. The organization provides state-of-the-art mobile health technology, such as iPods and Skyscape, to health care professionals in the developing world.
Mobile health access to up-to-date clinical information not only aids health care professionals, but it can also be used to empower lay practitioners, such as community health workers, to do more for individuals living in remote rural settings.
Watch the interview with Donato (at the 2014 Health 2.0 Conference) – a renaissance man with a passion for changing the world – one village at a time.
