You can use the Tonic platform to do performance assessments of patients, including functional status, cognitive performance, social status, and financial resources for managing health.

Pamela Duncan, PhD, Professor of Neurology at Wake Forest School of Medicine and a power user of the Tonic Health joined Pat Salber MD () to talk about the different ways she uses the platform in the care of patients, including documenting functional status, medication adherence, and performance assessment. She uses it both in the office as well as having patients collect data while at home.

When asked for an example of clinical use, she describes using it to assess cognitive deficits post-stroke that could interfere with the ability of a patient to properly take and manage high risk drugs, like anticoagulants. She also says they are using it with Parkinson’s patients to assess falls and fall rate. Right now, it is being used as a stand-alone device that sends her a report, but she is hoping they will integrate into the EHR in the future.
