HealthSpot wants to bring the doctor to you, instead of you going to the doctor—now that’s a good idea!

Steve Cashman, Founder and CEO of HealthSpot joined Pat Salber () at HIMSS15 in Chicago to talk about the company and its recent partnership with Xerox Corporation. He started the conversation by saying “[w]e are reinventing the way people get access to care.” And, indeed, they are.

HealthSpot kiosks provides “next-gen” telehealth by integrating their platform with medical diagnostic devices enabling community doctors (such as Kaiser Permanente physicians in California) to not only see the patient via video, but also look in ears and listen to breath sounds and heart sounds.

Tamara St. Claire, Chief Innovation Officer at Xerox joined the conversation to explain why Xerox invested in HealthSpot and how they are not just an investor, but also an active participant in the development of the kiosks, providing infrastructure such as cloud hosting, integration to EHM, claims eligibility and claims submission.

Steve says that HealthSpot wants to disrupt existing retail clinics. It’s a case of a disruptor disrupting the disruptor. Fun. Enjoy the video!
